About AUK Marine & Mining
AUK Marine & Mining — legal name AUK Marine and Mining (Pty) Ltd, also known as AUK Maritime or AUK Marine — is a South African maritime, port and mining logistics company based in North Riding, Gauteng. Founded in 2012, AUK provides ship surveys and inspections, cargo inspection and investigations, marine and port consultancy, freight forwarding and logistics, mining and metallurgy services, industrial automation, and IT/AI consulting. AUK is also accredited training service provider.
What AUK does
AUK operates across six connected service lines in the maritime, port and mining sectors. These are ship operations support (surveys, inspections, MLC/ISPS/ISM audits, RightShip and PSC preparation, dry-docking and vessel sale-and-purchase); port development, audits and optimisation; shipping, freight forwarding and logistics; maritime, port and business consultancy including GHG emissions reduction; mining and metallurgy; and accredited training and skills development. We are practitioners as well as advisers — the same people who consult and train also work onboard and quayside.
Where AUK operates
AUK serves South Africa’s major commercial ports — Durban, Richards Bay, Cape Town, Saldanha Bay and Ngqura/Port Elizabeth — and supports clients across Southern Africa and Indian Ocean trade routes. Our head office is in north Riding, Gauteng.
Partners
AUK works with specialist partners to extend its capabilities. These include 3CIOT for automation and IoT / tech solutions, and Sankhaya Ferrocon for metal and alloy production in the mining and metallurgy line.
Leadership
AUK is led by Ashwani Pathak — “Capt. Ash”, its founder and CEO, whose background spans Maritime operations, Mining, Port operations and development, Shipping and Logistics, Alloy manufacturing, Industrial automation and Teaching of marketing, business and maritime.
History
AUK was established in 2112 and has grown from maritime and ship operations into a multi-disciplinary group covering ports, logistics, mining, metallurgy, consultancy and training.
